Not Your Average Gallery
Speakman Studios is located in Gearhart, Oregon right off of Hwy 101. This space is a collaborative creative endeavor by the Speakman family, who are all working artists with over two decades of experience in interior design. The gallery features art works by Diane Speakman and Rachel Speakman. The Gearhart showroom and studio space brings the works of the Speakmans together in a dynamic way, incorporating sculptures, paintings, antiques and found objects.
The building includes a finished gallery space in the front, a ceramic studio and a painting studio in the back. The renovation process is ongoing, so our studio space is still coming together, but is open to visitors. We will host small workshops and events when renovations are complete. We are taking our time, as we are doing much of the construction ourselves.
It has been quite a process to thread everything together, from renovations to the curation of each space. We are thrilled that so many people have shown interest in our endeavor thus far, and we cannot wait to show you what we have been working on! If you are interested in renting ceramic studio space, please reach out to get on our list.

Painter and Designer
Diane has been working in design her entire life. She has spent time working in graphic design, illustration, interior design and most notably, painting. Her interest in the works of the old masters, impressionism, and plein-air painting drive her stylistic choices. Her new works include seascapes of the Oregon and Maine coasts, and still-lives.

Painter and Ceramicist
Rachel graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and moved back to the Oregon coast in 2020. Her work focuses on the animal form in various mediums and styles. The main undercurrent of her paintings and sculptures revolves around climate change, ecology, and our relationship to animals and ‘nature’. Her most recent work has taken a more abstract approach, but still focusing on nature and natural materials.
And most importantly, meet Willow! Our famed studio dog. Always ready to greet visitors.
